How to check version of R language installed

R programming is a free and Open-source package used for data analysis. I will show you two ways to find which version of R is installed in your system

Method 1: Using R/R studio

Open R or R studio and type
version or R.Version()
This will bring you the following details

platform       x86_64-redhat-linux-gnu     
arch           x86_64                      
os             linux-gnu                   
system         x86_64, linux-gnu           
status                                     
major          3                           
minor          5.1                         
year           2018                        
month          07                          
day            02                          
svn rev        74947                       
language       R                           
version.string R version 3.5.1 (2018-07-02)

Method 2: Using Terminal in Linux

Open Terminal and type in the command line

R --version

you will get the following result

[sulthan@sulthan-acer ~]$ R --version
R version 3.5.1 (2018-07-02) -- "Feather Spray"
Copyright (C) 2018 The R Foundation for Statistical Computing
Platform: x86_64-redhat-linux-gnu (64-bit)
